Indoor Design of Wireless Local Area Networks

چکیده
Wireless local area networks (WLANs) are considered to be the fastest growing communication technology because of their low cost and high data rates. In this paper the effect of interference caused by Bluetooth devices and Microwave ovens on the performance of 802.11b WLANs is investigated. Results show that 802.11b WLAN are not affected severely while operating in the presence of a Bluetooth link and a Microwave oven. Furthermore, we use the signal level measurements to decide the number and locations of access points required to provide good WLAN coverage in a campus building at KFUPM.
